After some people have expressed some interest in fitness during the channel lately (including myself), It's been decided to set ourselves a goal to not only get fit enough, but to maintain a level of fitness in order to run the London marathon next year.
I'll be starting a routine of running everyday, and mainly cardiovascular work like DDR and using my rowing machine to get fitter.
We could also perhaps tie this into possible sponsership that could be DDR related :)
Info about this can be found here: http://www.london-marathon.co.uk
Hopefully some of you lot will have similar plans, perhaps the formation of a MPUK sponsered team to better the chances of being accepted into the marathon or maybe would like to discuss this idea?

Just seen this, veering it back on topic
I would be VERY interested in running the 05 London marathon, hopefully an extention of the 2004 Shakespeare Half Marathon which I'm hoping to run in this year. Only doing 5 mile stints at the moment in about 40 mins, but from next week onwards I'll be moving up a gear or two in preparation for the Strat one on April 25th.

Just done a 2 mile run today, got locked out of the house, and had to wait for an hour so I thought i'ld not waste it standing around.
It shows how much the other exercises i'm doing doesn't train, as I found myself quite out of breath. Needless to say next time I do it, will be in proper clothes and trainers designed for running, and hopefully not when its currently pouring with rain.

exercise is a good thing, i used to go running for an hour ro 2 a morning when i played rugby and basketball but since stopping those i have slipped a bit, still do a lot of bike riding back and to, to work and just going out for no reason whatsoever riding for a few hours, sounds like an interesting plan. would be an interesting thing for the papers

interested. currently looking at doing something like this next year. i thought about contacting someone like microsoft for sponsorship so we could do something daft like run in costume from lots of MS games and advertise whilst raising money for charity as well.
if only halo2 was next year. we could ask for lots of green armour and run in that LOL.
either way ask in a few months and see if i have kept to my fitness reigeme
