here's a movie i made for a uni project

we had to pick a street and do a "presentation" of it... sort of in an arty farty way. So we had to go around looking like idiots studying kerbs and stuff...

*anyway* this is my final render that i handed in

it uses 3DSMax 5 to make a 3Dmodel of the street, with nearly everything being made from digital photographs of the actual surfaces - even down to the white lines on the road!)

then i mixed this in premiere pro with some real video and some sketches and high quality B+W photographs I took (we were encouraged to use lots of different media)

They gave us 4 months to do it and i started it 2 days before it was due to be handed in! The 3D model was built in a day (not bad considering i'd never used 3DSMax before... or any 3D prog come to mention it)

the first day I had to go get all the video footage and textures and it was bloody peeing it down and blowing a force 10 gale - as you can tell from the wobbly video!

so anyway here it is

sorry about the quality (the final render i handed in was 500MB but i compressed it to 4MB so it looks/sounds a bit crap)

right click me and goto "save target as" (http://www.urbanhousework.com/crap/finalrender.wmv)

Nice but for the next one you need to get a license for Crytek's CryENGINE to build your world in. Forget streets, you could have built the town. :)

My project for 3D Animation at college involved planets, space, spacecraft and other stuff. I've not seen the animation you made yet Elbonio so I can't compare.
