Just a silly question, but has no-one been getting the new campaigns for this game. Shadows of Undertice and Hordes of the Underdark are brilliant, and I highly recommend them.

Just wondering where all of the interest went, as this game is still kicking.

Really enjoyed playing the original. Not got any expansions yet though. It's a real time eater, which isnt good when you've got exams on :( Not so great online when your on a 56k dial up either. Would enjoy a mini campaign at a lan though. A few of us have downloaded personal ones which dont take to long. Apart from that not really look into the multiplayer side.

Damn good game though.

I was hoping that Blizard would announce a forthcoming release of NWN as a MMORPG. Or a MMORPG based on the NWN engine.

I think the game has the capasity for it, and the player base :).

Yeah a MMORPG version of NWN would certainly rock, especially if i had the connection for it :( . I tried going back and playing Baldurs Gate but it just wasnt the same. I know i shouldnt be looking at graphics in a RPG but they add so much it seemed. Still good games. Any chance of a short seinario of nwn at an i-event? i havent played it in ages.

I've played around with the DM Client a while back, it has got a lot of capasity to make a scenario even better. But, at the same time, its not the same as if a MMORPG.

Something centralised at Bioware with their creator team as DM's would go a long way. Such as item changes/crafting/quests. The thing is, that playing to one scenario is fun, once or twice. As the game does get boring when you know everything about it. For it to reach a MMORPG and be good, you'd need to create a whole world that would have an active realtime element. Such as DM controlled gods/mages/heroes/etc. It would mean that a player joining the field would become part of a world. Something like UO, but, unfortunately OSI did way to many changes, and killed half of its dedicated game community off.

I would happily pay $20 a month to play a good MMORPG. But the problem is how to realise it. The thing with NWN, is that the engine renders each module prior to entering it. Meaning that an active module cannot have any environmental additions to it. Such as a new dungeon or a house. This would have to be overcome, but it probably means a complete remake of the NWN engine.

Do any of you lot still play this game, its one of my main games on the Net atm, and was just wondering if anyone could offer any leet character builds for the purpose of PVP.

My last build was a Fighther, WM, Monk (took monk just for free Knockdown and Evasion feat). The main strengths of this char are that hes virtually immune to Knockdown but sadly with a +10 weapon ive only got a 65ab which makes him pretty weak. I need good char builds wth very high disc, ab (using +10 weapon) and a decent AC (getting about 50 ac from items)

Im playing it extensivly at the moment, ive played SoU through and have HoU installed.

Im just working through NwN before i go onto {link: Nether Scrolls (http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/modules/data/1068343551484.shtml) } then into HoU.

I cant play online at the moment, but my retail should arrive tomorrow.

As for the mmorpg element, you should have a look at some of the Persistent Worlds that are springing up at the moment, as for capacity, unfortunatly no, nwn caps out at like 39 players per server, then the server pretty much dies.

But as far as i can gather work is being done to change this, but as for the PW's it looks rather like a free mmorpg style version of the game, id recommed googling for some PW's that are already running.

Definatly up for some sessions online when my retail arrives.

As for character builds, there are some epic builds on the {link: bioware website (http://nwn.bioware.com) } which could give you an insight into building characters and how to use the new prestiege classes, otherwise, again (lol) google for character guides, there are plenty out there.

If you read this entire post, you are hereby awarded a gold star :)
