1.6 patch news - good and bad

Well, EAs main site features some news on the 1.6 patch which is now scheduled for release in january.

According to these news, EA has officially gone into "Flash Gordon"-mode by releasing a new map with the latest patch including a german 1-man gyrocopter (yes... :eek: ). Rest assured when I say that if this little piece of absurdity has been included in any of the stock maps, I'm thru with BF1942.

Another major change that is of interest to us is the modification of maps Kharkov and Kursk. Russians will now have an IL-2 Sturmovik instead of a Yak... I don't know why they don't just give them a fully equipped F-15a since it IS x-mas time and EA is so clearly in the 'giving' mood - but then again, I won't give them any "brilliant" ideas.

Dunno about you guys, but the piccies of that gyrocopter makes me fear that this patch will be the first from EA that I don't like at all.

There are 2 maps to be realsed with 1.6, one for vanilla and one for Secret Weapons. Wich one to you think the copter is in???? :D :D

The IL-2 will most likely be the 2 seater bomber version. That way, it will be one bomber and one fighter for each side. One slow plane, and one fast. This is actually good for gamebalance. No side will have airsuperiority because of the planes.

Good for balance but it also generates more planecamping on publics since not many of the good pilots use twoseaters... and i dont want another fecking crap no-use plane as stuka :mad: you can only be shot down in those and cant even bomb a tank if you dont miss it on purpose

the stuka is a great plane, 1 shot kills on virtually any armour in any position

I personally love the stuka. Its very powerful for bombing and strafing. Or to be more precise, I love it when I have airsuperiority. Its not so fun when you have a couple of Yak's hunting you.. :p:
