Ah, the Italians. Purveyors of auto exotica (Fiat not included), gorgeous women and tasty cuisine. This was our first time playing against K! and we weren't entirely sure how we would fare as we had heard good things about them. After some friendly banter involving some Harlequins ordering pizza from K! (thick crust, pepperoni, tomato & mushrooms, I believe) the game was under way. Here's how it went:

Round 1: Stalingrad: Allied
Harlequins: 64 K!:0

Their homemap. Everyone knows Stalingrad but we had made efforts to prepare for this. We capped our home flag quickly and the usual, INSANE affair of grenade spamming commenced. I won't mention D3m0n's inability to drive a jeep up a low gradient slope resulting in him abandoning it - oh sorry - I just have. Anyway, there was a fierce battle for the centre flag with K! launching multiple infantry and armour attacks but with some coordinated codpiece flashing we came through and capped the middle flag after a few minutes. Despite a hell of a lot of heat coming from their HQ, we maintained both our back spawn and centre, so D3m0n, who was directing the performance for Stalingrad, was able to push our Death Jesters forward to their remaining flag.

Of note, during this attempt, Ghost was on the top floor of their spawn and ran into an engineer, subsequently gunning the poor bastard down. Surrounded by K! infantry he applied his government funded higher education and swapped kits; and then proceeded to detonate expacks left by previously said poor bastard, taking out all the K! infantry. Despite the fact he's Danish and being a slutpuffin (you love it Ghost), you cannot be failed to be impressed by that. Anyway, Ghost capped it and we Fandago'd them to a zero, holding all the flags until the end of the round. Ho, Ho, Ho and a Merry Christmas. And that's a "ho" as in happy "ho" not as one may think, Shadowhawk's choice of female companion.

Round 2: Axis
Harlequins: 134 K!: 0

Settling into a rhythm, we pushed forwards heavily, capping both our home flag and centre. With our multi-coloured, LSD covered tanks (we lick them on a regular basis) pushing forwards and Death Jesters causing havoc, very quickly we had all the flags. Some clever infiltration by K! managed to grey their back flag but they weren't counting on our Swedish diplomate (there's a contradiction in terms) Langos. Taking a break from assembling affordable, stylish furniture, Langos moved in quickly and spanked them with an IKEA allen key thus rendering the flag as the property of The Harlequins. Rah. With Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" ringing in our ears, we Fandango'd them to zero.

Round 3: Kharkov Allied
Harlequins: 172 K!: 0

The round started rather badly for us. Dusty got in my tank instead of D3m0n who was left to run about holding his thumb out trying to hitchhike a ride in addition to some other complete, numpty-like behaviour I'm not even going to mention. Really not our best start there. Not surprisingly, they capped the hill first but we met little resistance when we arrived thus capping and holding it. Our Death Jesters, Armour and air support in position, we capped and held all the flags, containing them in the base for the remainder of the round.

Round 4: Kharkov Axis
Harlequins: 185 K!: 0

Slightly different here. We took all the flags pretty quickly but damn, their planes gave us some grief. K!'s pilots must like Yaks because they were really hassling our groundpounders. We eventually contained them and shot their planes down but K! still kept coming at us. We didn't make it easy though. Ghost came into contact with a sniper at their back flag, which we had and despite unloading an entire clip managed to *miss* entirely. The K! sniper quickly took his pistol out, shot Ghost in the head 3 times and jumped in the tank that spawned. Not bad. Thing is, TankGirl was right behind him...who incidentally, saved me from an impending rear AT shot. Thanks darlin :)

It wasn't long before we took control of all three flags and Fandango'd them, counting them down to an eventual zero.

The match ended with the score of 555-0. K! were a good and very friendly opponent with no complaints whatsoever. The game went smoothly and without any problems. We would definitely recommend them and wish them luck in their future matches.

GG K!

Excellent Report...best one yet i think :)

Yer thanks Langos...was some Rambo like probing runs on Stalingrad from me you and ghost into there HQ back flag. The sheer look of terror on there faces as I kicked down the HQ door and run in there, nade in one hand, DP in the other, Bullet clips round my chest and a bandana flapping around my head ! RAR !!!

Although 1st round of Kharkov is one i'll easily forget with a pants score due to my innability to cope with hills...ie - I keep falling down the feckers ;) one such moment saw me spot an enemy infantry running below me on Alpha Side of Hill. I lobbed a greneade down there, slipped on some wet grass, fell arse of a tit down the hill with a pistol in my hand, firing at the sky then I blew up on my nade and landed in the sea...much to the amusement of the bemused K! infantry who was probably laughing so much it f00ked his game up for the rest of the round
bah...can't win em all I guess ;)

GG's though :)

yer and whats with all our games finishing with a win of 555 to whatever ??? scary stuff. 3 of the 6 games have ended with a 555 win to us. Odds on that eh !
