i have an onboard network card , should i invest in getting and external 1? whats its advantages? ta again

We have people who use there onboard with out problems at LANS so would bother investing in anotherone m8.
If theres any problems then we always keep a few spare 10mb ones in the admin room :)
Infact i think there may even be a couple 100mb ones in that box :D
