Just out of curiosity.. what would be the consequences of cheating at an i-event? i mean would you be thrown out or just banned from servers?

Has anyone ever been caught cheating? and if so what happened?

At the very least, you would never be able to play in a MPUK tournament again.

Well I can't speak for other games and their communites but from a TFC standpoint.. if someone was caught cheating at a lan they'd (I'd hope) be removed from the tourny and banned from future tournys, plus wonid taken and added to all server ban lists online.

But then again... no TFC player would be stupid enough to cheat at a lan tbh, too tight knit community

If i remember rightly - someone was caught cheating @ i10 (CS)
he was banned from all the public servers and given a warning i think.
Nothing Lantrocity style harsh. But there was a large swarm of intrest

I was going to make a joke about the relationship between tight knit and shrinking numbers of players but then I thought better of it. ;)

Back during i3/i4 the CS spike models and other textures and model cheats were rife. There were no proper rules to deal with that type opf cheating then as it was only just becoming a problem online. People knew it wasn't right.

People were asked not to use any cheats or texture hacks.

There's a video (on the FTP?) of a guy at a LAN in the states caught cheating. They rip out his machine pick him and his rig up, take them outside and proceed to accelerate both towards the ground.

In other words him and his machine were thrown out... literally


You see all these geek-vultures picking over the smashed remains of his machine and you hear someone say "The cd-rom is still good" or something liike that


its quite amusing but I dont know if it was faked or if it was real... part of it looks fake (the start) and part of it looks real (the finalé)...

It's a fake. Although the video is quite old now, the computer that gets chucked out is ancient. An old AT motherboard etc.

I did have my suspicions

the acting at the start is rubbish but it's quite good at the end - some of the guys round the guy smashing the computer look genuinely scared of him like

"oh my gosh ted's lost it- what if he comes for me next?"

sort of looks...


i think it deserves an Oscar...
