Team AMD Gamer
PC Gamer partners with AMD for online gaming team
Future's market-leading PC Gamer is joining ranks with leading
microprocessor company, AMD, to recruit and promote a gaming team (clan)
to play in PC games tournaments.
The TAG (Team AMD Gamer) idea was spearheaded by AMD and its UK PR
agency, Universal McCann as a promotional vehicle to raise awareness
among gamers about AMD’s newly released AMD AthlonTM 64 FX processor.
A clan of pro-standard gamers, TAG will be sponsored and equipped by AMD
using their cutting-edge AMD64 technology. The team will play in regular
online events and attend and compete in leading tournaments across the
world.
As Britain's biggest selling PC games magazine, PC Gamer is AMD's
selected media partner for this promotion. In this role, PC Gamer is to
recruit the TAG members from its loyal and well-qualified gaming
readership before promoting the newly formed clan with updates every
issue and online with gamesradar.com on the gamers’ latest achievements
and on their upcoming fixtures.
The November issue of PC Gamer introducing the recruitment drive for TAG
is on sale 3 October, priced at £4.99 with two CD-ROMs and £5.99 with a
covermounted DVD-ROM.
