Date for Next LAN

We would like all people who attend Uprising LAN events to vote on when they would be able to attend the next event.

mooney mate i reckon if u book it when the shcools are on holiday in january 04 first week in that mate, c0z tbh i reckon i could get 3 other people going and i reckon more people would show up

The problem with having it the first week in january is most ppl will have spent all there money at christmass or on nights out over the festive period at least by holding it the last weekend in January then pople will have been paid.

The poll is a very good idea and the I am up for the LAN ASAP, i realise this is not everyone's idea, but having just missed that one, i am desperate to shoot a lot of stuff.

Looking for games of warcraft3 and Urban Terror(quake 3 mod) at the next LAN, is anyone interested!?¿?

What ever u do do not let the lan happen in Feb
cos i got 3 ADV highers prelims + crappy english to do then and i cant come then for lots of revision would need to be done ;)

I agree with Lethal. But a Christmas lan would be seer class. For a christmas special you could host a 8v8 or 5v5 tournement of Day Of Defeat as well as the usual Cs and Quake 3 tournements. I know time is an issue but i think of you were to host the Dod tournements at 4 or 5 oclock on the first day of the lan you should be able to get it finished before the Cs tournement. For prizes they would not have to be big gold diamond rings you could just give the players of the winnig clan a game each e.g Half Life2 if out by then. If u do host a Dod tournement think of the appeal it would have and also it would add a little bit more excitment to the lan.

As for the DoD tourney apart from your self do many of the other gamers play it anymore?
And as for a game each for the winning teams you'll just have to wait and see what prizes we can secure.

As for a February lan i doubt that will happen either. it seems that November and January are the two most popular choices when actually discussing it with ppl in irc just a shame they won't get their fingers out and come on here and vote.

Hey Guys,

I'm still up for the lan in november because i just missed the last one (sorry about that admin). I know that the lizardware™team can make it between 3 and 6 of them (hopefully 5 so we can try out this quake thing lol). I think all 6 can make it in november but not sure about other dates. I agree with the admin about everyone being skint after christmas and new year and i reckon that nov is the best date to have it.

When you do get a final date sorted and confirmed can you let is know cheers ;-)

PS is anyone else up for urban terror? Also UT2003? C&C generals? Also Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries? Even red faction? + more,
what else do you guys play apart from Q3 and CS?

But I'll try the November one, Ill try and drag some house mates along.

You guys really need to make people pay before they come, its the only way you can get the numbers right.

As for prizes, most lans I have been too, prizes are just a bonus, I dont see many lans with prizes.

1 Lan every 3 months sounds about right, but when people do sign up you really need to keep emailing them until they pay.

Im just talking bollox now cos im really bored :)

As some of you may have noticed the actual date for the next LAN is 27th Feb - 29th Feb which will be confirmed for definite 2nite.

The reason for not having it in November was that all the admin had other commitments which they couldn't get out off, these commitments wheren't known at the time of starting this post.
