aphex, i fear you may have missed the point. To a lot of people on these boards, FF7 was the very first BIG game they played (i know it was mine). I became so involved with it, id come home from school, play FFVII till late, sleep, school and repeat. It still stands as my favorite game of all time...ever.

If this sequel comes out and carries the original games system (materia for spells etc), which i imagine it will as its set in the FFVII world, i will happily buy a PS2/Xbox JUST to play this game.

I too played FF7 alot, was and is one of my favourite games of all time, was merely promoting the new Final fantasy online benchmark test which recently come availible, and looks leet, believe me when i say..

"It is thought that the game will be completey overhauled with Playstation 2 graphics replacing those found in the PSone original, not merely using the original engine as expected.

Other intresting gossip points towards a possible Xbox release. Indeed, SE stated that the game will be released on DVD, though at time of going press, has refused to commit to a platform. It might be a movie or interactive DVD, perhaps using the Nuon platform."

Sorry for thinking that might be a game, it may not be but then again it may be.
