Hi all....

With Doom 3 first being mentioned about and all the demos etc etc and all the lark.
Everyone expected your need a HEFTY! machine to play it..
Some even thought to play it well ur need a P4 3ghz LOL...

Well some strange reason on IGN todd said this:

Right now the team is still working out the system requirements for the game. Todd was good enough to offer an idea of where he thinks the overall recommended requirements will lie. He imagines that the game will run well on a 1GHz machine with 256MB of RAM and a GeForce 2 or equivalent card. Given the phenomenal visuals in the game and the improved AI and physics systems, that estimate is probably pretty reasonable

If thats true then I am shocked... I expected even my system to not run doom 3 nowhere as good.. let alone boot it.
LOL

When developers code a game they make it to run on the best hardware then work down.

aye... no point i making a game noone can run is there? after all a very small percentage of users actually have the lastest hardware.

yeah. By that they probably mean on 640x480 res with everything on minimum. If u want it to look like on the tech demos ull probably have to have something near that 3ghz machine u were thinking of :)

Well they say it will run well on them specs.

So I dout they meant well is 640,480... etc

Erm. By well they mean it will run smoothly and playable. They don't mean it will be on the highest graphics settings and high resolution.

ah ok.
My mistake.

So I take it a 2ghz 512mb would run it quiet high well?

should cope fine....probably about medium settings so it looks nice but not ur stupidly high res bump mapped vertex shaded tech demo at 100fps type thing

That will be the minimum spec for the game. Did they say anything about the recommended spec? Cause I can bet it will be a lot higher then that.

The "alpha" ran ok-ish on that spec.
