Hello.

Is there a foolproof way to make a Nuke Cannon guard it's firing range area WITHOUT moving if something gets too close to it for it to fire? Whenever I've tried to setup a nuke cannon perimeter defense pissing about against the computer, they will without fail packup and move about if something gets too close for them. Example would be a humvee which moves too quickly to be hit by the non-guided shell. This is pretty crud because then the nuke cannon can't fire until it anchors again.

I'm guessing this is default behaviour and can't be fixed (why oh why isn't there a proper stand ground action?) so my current workaround consists of putting some various units in front of the nuke cannons, thus holding up advancing units so the nuke's don't wander about, but has the unfortunate downside of my units usually dying when the nuke cannons do make their targets range. i.e. right in front of my units who are attacking them.

(evangelion)

You need an AT field.

AFAIK you're currently doing the best you can, however my "Nuke Cannon Issue" is more like why something containing NUCLEAR TIPPED SHELLS is armoured with KIT KAT WRAPPERS?

My "Nuke Cannon Issue" is why something that is armoured with kit kat wrappers IS SOOO SLOW

Have the nuke cannons force-fire on choke points. That way they stay deployed and if you spot anything coming in you can set up the shot nice and quickly.

Re: Kit kat wrapper armour and Speed issues.

How much do you think a reactor and nuke shell factory weighs? (they make their own ammo on the move:)) any extra weight (armour) would cause the cannon to bog down in the soft-earth.

Elementary my dear Watsons.

Nah, units like buggies, hummvees etc. can come through between blasts and own you... also you're giving your position away (arc of projectile before it lands) meaning enemy can use airpower easily against you.

I find the contant fire useful. If you've got a couple firing at the same spot they stop special ops and infantry and cripple any large attack force. With most choke points you're not giving much away by the arc of fire because there's not many places you can be anyway.

Nuke cannons are ok, they are slow though

I think the best thing to do, is what you are doing now.

Although, I do sugest migs on guarg mode with the nuke cannons. :)
