View Full Version : Whats up with the Staff Titles?
Under the name, above the avatar. Some Multiplay employees/volunteers bouncing between having 'Multiplay UK' there, when they have advertised in their sigs or whatever that they are staff, are they really bouncing between being a punter or are the admins just bored?
Just one of those strange little things you notice on the daily forum trawl.

And in English?

Yes aBe. Please to attempt that again in a language the rest of us can understand. :)
*puts teeth back in*
Above Say_Tens avatar it says 'Multiplay UK', whereas I quite frequently see people such as MingTeA display 'Multiplay UK' one day, and not the next.
Surely all staff should have it all of the time so we can tell the difference between staff & punters?

I can't say I pay attention to it. But I've never noticed any of them changing. I know that very few people on the forums have the ability to change it. only Wizzo, Say_Ten, Killing, Space Cowboy, KBB and TelexStar I think.
Yeah for one, I was sure Afty had the title, but no more.
Maybe some kind of staff list should go up telling everyone what tasks they do/what teams they are on?

After a while, as you no doubt konw... you can change the title under your name, but only the aforementioned admins can add the MultiplayUK link.
If a staff member decides to change their title, the link disapears and an admin has to be asked to reinsert it.

The Staff list is very complex, as you have people who only have jobs at events, MiNgTeA for example, whose role may change event-to-event. Then you have people like me who have the same dynamic role at events (Yellow at i15, Red at i16), but also do Online Clanserver Support. Then you have people who are officially still staff (ie, they have access to all the Staff Forums and the staff IRC channel), but haven't staffed since i10 or perhaps before. Really, there doesn't need to be a list of staff, only at events. If Clanservers are an issue for you, then you already know how to get hold of an admin. You're not going to need to talk to an event staffer outside of an event.

Ah, the aforementioned mpuk descriptive text.
Totally random, yet refreshing.

Thanks Squire for explaining that to me, it all makes perfect sense now :)
I can see how a staff list could be long and hard to keep up to date; its just interesting to see how many staff there are and their roles.

If he edits within a certain amount of time, the "Edited by:" thing doesn't appear. Now who looks stupid?

Thanks for pointing that out ... I thought I had imagined it! I did not notice that the 'edited by' hadn't appeared ... and you're right I did edit it immediately afterwards.
