ok so i have just come out off the cave and realised that my 56k is crap for online. big prob though i live too far for adsl and cable wont be near me for a year, is it worth getting isdn? will probably be only able to connect at 64k as i cant find any to support 128k. may be expensive but if it is good for gaming then sod the cost.
cheers

ISDN is excellent for gaming as it provides a very stable connection with a fairly low ping (average of 40)

by all accounts RHA supports 128k connections.
but again, I only use 64k myself, and find that very adaquate. The ping gain ( WIZZO - what is a ping !! ) from going from 64k to 128k is negligable.
but as patch said, ISDN does offer the most stable ping rate, and the bandwidth is guarrenteed by BT, unlike the other Broadband mediums, that suffer from contention ratio's
Go for it, Get ISDN

RHA is shutting down soon
Not taking any new signups at the moment and are not allowing renewing of existing customers accounts.
I think that means I'm still on it till about june this year though http://www.multiplay.org/ubb/wink.gif
So it should just get quicker and quicker to us that are still on it (I hope)

I thought ADSL works at 3.5 KM and that ISDN works at 3KM away? (unless you get the 2e Version and not home highway)

ISDN cant reach further now, have had mine line checked a few times but no go for ADSL. Usually i wouldnt trust BT but a mate of mine actually done the test.
