can u use both static IP's ie more than 1, along with dynamic IPs on the same network?

Yes you can, but you have to be sure to set your DHCP scopes and static IP ranges so as not to conflict. You can also reserve IPs for particular MAC addresses in DHCP, making them effectively static within a dynamic scope.

okay doke, i can do that http://www.multiplayuk.com/ubb/smile.gif oh yeah win2k networking: i set up a static IP on the machine and a static IP using same subnet masks on both machines one machine using win2k other running 98, they cant communicate only when i set the 98 machine to use DCHP. any ideas as this is kinda putting a crimp on me lan.
