UBI Soft have announced that they are working on the next installment of the massive hit, Splinter Cell and will be subtitled "Pandora Tomorrow".
The sequel to one of the years biggest selling titles is scheduled for release during early 2004.
The sequel promises more of the amazing single player action of sneaking around using the shadows to your benefit and will also include new action scenes which will bring a cinematic feel to the title.
Showing that UBI are supporting the online console gaming the sequel will become the first stealth based game to feature multiplayer online missions allowing players to use stealth around the same level.

A MP mode would be well appreciated. Many people asked for one in the original but unfortunately only a SP was produced. It would be completely different from most other MP's, as instead of just bouncing around shooting at anything which moves (UT2k3 and CS etc) it would be totally based on stealth

And is that an actual REAL screenshot from the game, or just a picture they have done for it? The graphics look TOO awesome!

I posted about this the other day.....

and that is not a screen shot, it's pre-rendered.

What good is it posting it in Comments?
No one goes there.
Yeah it's a pre-rendered image that they are showing as a "screen shot"
I didn't want MP in the first one. I'm glad of the way it is. Means they spent time on making it as playable and in depth as it is.

It's not my fault you don't read the comments, doesn't mean u have to take it out on me ;)

btw, who are 'they' when you say : they are showing as a "screen shot"

Since i don't think any good news source would think that's a screen shot, when it is clearly concept art

I got the article from the press resources of E3 and it's on their site with the heading: Screen Shot.

I can only see MP working as a small contained 1-on-1 or tag team, given the mechanics, movement and slow nature of the game

Depends if they are gonna make it a versus game or a co-op game.
Personally I hope for the co-op.

as much as I'd want a co-op mode, it does tend to go against the vein of the game (omg, a ****ty pun of the Splinter Cell theme)...

But how would they do death match in a game based on stealth?

and wait a sec... is Splinter Cell going jungle now... doesn't that completely seem out of setting?

I think its just a plant hes going past, and he is not actually in a jungle. If you look behind him there is a building and I think some type of vehicle.

it was going to but it proved too difficult to be done in time for release...or so they said. however UT has a mod for it called thieveryUT - www.thieveryut.com - which works really well.

Ion storm are going to put a multiplayer side into thief 3 which will hopefully be released early next year at the latest.

as you have probably guessed i like the thief games :D

How could it go against the theme of the game with him being in the jungle?
In the first one he walks through an oil pipe on an oil rig.
He's like Superman in that he goes where there is trouble, oh but he can't fly and doesn't wear his underpants on the outside.
