i'm a big fan of Freelancer but the longivity is pretty lacking in MP, its just too damn quick to level.
Ive downloaded quite a few mods but 1 has really caught my eye and seems perfect to run with at i16, even though standard FL might be pretty cool to run alone those of us with a long FL background will be able to level up really quick and it will get boring fast (imo).
To save on my typing I will paste the blurb :)
Freelancer: Level 2 v1.4
Multiplayer RPG client/server expansion details and changes:
All weapons and ship prices have been increase by 4 times their normal.
All levels have been increase by 4 times their normal.
Starting reputations have been modified to allow players to choose a faction without starting as their enemies.
3 Completely New Civilian ships are available: Raptor-LF, Predator-HF, Phoenix-VHF, all sold at undisclosed locations.
Other new fighters: Anubis, CSV, Defender MkII, Starblazer
1 Gunboat and 1 Armored Transport.
Jump Gates from NY to Alaska and Magellan to NY are operational.
Info Cards for all of the fighters.
Icon for CSV is now working.
Pricing on all items and ships has been corrected from v1.2.
Nav Buoys are in place for the Alaska jump gate mine field.
The Alaska System is completely remodeled and open for business.
Wrecks have been moved around and their loadouts have changed.
Previously unusable Jump holes to valid systems have been opened for use.
2 new hidden bases have been added, locations undisclosed.
Planets Gammu and Primus now sell Shield batteries and Nanobots.
NPC Shields now Regenerate
A total of 7 new bases have been added, including the bases in Alaska and hidden bases.
The MOD is now required to be installed on the client computer for a player to access the online server.
The Capitol ship Encounter at capital systems
Added Scanners and Deep Range Scanners as internal equipment, sold at various bases.
Capital ships hit points have been increased significantly
1 cruiser has been added to the Liberty fleet to close up its formation to match the other fleets.
The Defender MK II is now also available at the Battleship Iowa in the Alaska system
Several previously non-purchasable Items have been added to undisclosed locations.
Obviously later versions will be out when i16 comes but in essence this looks right up our street and hopefully will be a much more gratifying experiance :D
