After several years in development Nexiuz has finally been completed and released. Nexiuz is a fast paced free multiplayer fps based on the <a href="http://www.icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/">Darkplaces</a> engine which is a highly modified version of the nine year old Quake engine; old Quake players should feel right at home.
Even though Nexius uses an old graphics engine it still utilizes most effects available with the latest graphic cards. The netcode has also been given an overhaul and now supports 64 player games.
Nexiuz is released with 17 maps, 28 characters in versions for both Windows and GNU/Linux, OS X version is said to be on its way.
