does anyone know of any irc servers that are on the quakenet network that can be connected to on port 80?

To bind the ircd to port 80, would involve running it as root - which is not something that quakenet are very likely to do. Besides, the ircd won't allow you to.
However b0rk.uk.quakenet.org does listen on port 8080 I believe.
If you can only connect through port 80 (as you are behind a firewall I assume) the only thing you can do is A: Run your own bnc connected to quakenet on port 80 or B: Use cgi-irc.

Or use some tunnelling software to do the job over http.
httport is one I have used previously.

You really shouldn't run a BNC as root either. And you would have to to allow it to bind to port 80.

Very true, forgot about that route. Never tried httport, but i've had socksviahttp working successfully before with little trouble.
