I see that people mention wrecks. Are there any around with weopons good for low level craft / new starters ?
Nope, all high level.
Kill some enemy and tractor in their weapons early on.
Umm yes there ARE low level wrecks. Quite many actually.
These can be found in the New York System and can be accuired with starting equipment. (however good dodging skills are needed :P )
wreck: Flint
loot:
Badariel Turret
Azrael
wreck: Aggressor
loot:
Countermeasure Dropper and ammo
Gunslinger Turret Mk I
Gunslinger Mk I
wreck: Patrol 27
loot:
Justice Turret Mk I
Justice Mk III
Remember that if you suck the vacuum before you mount or sell your loot from the wrecks the stuff is gone for good until the wreck regenerates its content. Also even if you cant use the guns etc. yet you can still SELL them for good cash.
Ah cool, didn't know about those wrecks.

Just so I know, what do you have to do to find these things. I have just got this game, and don't want locations or anything cause I want to go find them myself. But do they show up in the scanner or do you have to literally scoure debris fields until you find them?
Vex is feeling all n00bish!

When you get close enough to them a red cross will appear on your map and will stay there, then all you have to do is fly up and shoot them so they release their goods. Most are to be found in awkward places like minfields and radiation areas, well why do you think they're wrecks ;)

Don't expect to find many on the MPUK server that still have cargo as many people have been round for rich pickings already :D
The ones near the end are quite cool, they can have lvl 10 Guardians and Archangels, oh as well as my fave the blue blazes. I know they're not nomad's but individuality is cool too :D

To help you search for wrecks / jump holes / other "interesting" stuff, go to the system map, and turn on PATROL PATHS (little icon along the top).
Loads of white lines will appear on your system map, follow them and they normally go past these points of interest. Btw, it only draws the lines in the immediate area you are in or area's you've already explored. So just because you cannot see any lines on the other side of the system, doesnt mean they arnt there, it might be you havent been over there yet!
Ooo to find jump holes, Jump holes are usually (*not always) where a series of patrol paths end in the middle of nowhere. So if you see 3 or 4 patrol lines meeting and ending at one point in space, there is a jump HOLE there.
To see wrecks more clearly, turn off patrol paths, as the big thick white lines have a tendancy to obscure the 'ittle red crosses.
Hope it helps :D

Clearly the Diamondbacks are teh win. Mainly cos they do a boatload of damage and look like railgun fire.
I have a titan and am still running around with some skyblast b's, natterturn, suncannon c , and i havent come across any high level weapons.
So i just go do stupid missions that you can kill the ships with a few hits :p:

Sure DB's kick butt with the damage but they drain energy and with a bit of lag you will be missing alot with them. Get calculator and find a set of fast, energy efficient weapons and you will outcome DB users.

Apparently you have to be around level 35 for them to start dropping weapons, don't know if that helps as you're probably higher than that!
