Hi folks, I have a perfect condition Enermax EG465AX-VE(G)(FMA) PSU with adjustable fan speed for sale. Purchased back in August if memory serves. Using it as I type this :)

Details for the PSU are here:

Enermax PSU Specs (http://www.enermax.com.tw/eg365ax-ve-fma.htm)

I am at i15 from Friday, so it would be cool for someone to pick it up from there ideally.

Still have the box and manual in the loft if memory serves.

£40 takeaway at i15

Cheers,

Nick :)

Edited to put in exact model and corrected specs hyperlink accordingly.

Mr Footlong

Hmmmmm let me think, a psu in excellent condition costing between £75-£85 new in most places. I think that would be a no to a tenner :p

still, £40 sounds a bit overpriced

Explain how for me. Enermax aren't just like any old bog standard psu as you probaly know. Them and Antec are pretty well the highest regarded psu's on the market.

Sigh...

Nick.

Ilock, try reading the whole post :)

Dizmatt and others, I have put up the exact model number and specs hyperlink, as I had to go into the loft as the lian li case that it is in completely blanks boths sides, so couldn't see the model.

It is a better model than the one I thought it was, so :p

Cheers,

Nick :)

Mr Footlong, could you offer me some advice please?

I know I need a new power supply, I've got 300W, and atm I think my system seems to be a bit sluggish since I added a cd-writer. In total, I've 2 hard drives and 2 cd drives (dvd + cd-rw).
I've also got an additional 4 usb at the front, powered by the power supply, not from mobo, and am basically using all the power connectors from the power supply.

So, I'm thinking of getting a bigger power supply. Do I really need a 550W one, or would your 465 one be adequete. I don't think I'll be adding any more drives, but might want some cathodes or something in the future ....

I know of a computer fair happening local to me in a couple of weeks, where I may be able to pick up a cheap psu, but I don't really know how much they're gonna be.

I currently wasn't planning on going to i15, but I suppose I could go as a speccy for a day if I had enough reason to make the journey ....

I would quite happily offer £40 for your psu, but would it be better for me to wait and get a 550W instead, probably not made by Enermax as it may be more convienient and would mean less travelling.

p.s. I live near Oxford by the way ... and I'm guessing it would be very expensive to post ... where abouts do you live?

If you are going to pick up a cheap 550W PSU from a comp fair, then it is very likely that it will be a Q-Tec supply. Myself and some colleagues have bought these before for the hell of it and heave had mixed results with them. I had one that was incapable of supplying adequate current on even a mildly oc'd Intel rig, whereas my mate had one that seemed to be fine in his oc'd athlon xp rig, well for 6 months before it went bang. Poss worth a try IMO, but 1 other thing about them is that the Q-Tec psu's get very warm, despite having dual fan cooling. All of us that have had Q-Tec's went to Enermax and had no problems at all. Saying all of that tho, I know of as many people on bog ctandard newish rigs running the q-tec's happily

The enermax that I have, in it's heyday powered the following perfectly :):

Intel p4 2.2@2.93Ghz (1.85v)
2 Sticks Corsair XMS3200 DDR
Epox 4G4A+ Mobo
Radeon 9700 Pro
Audigy 2
PCI TV Card
CDROM
CDRW
4x7200RPM HD
4x80MM Fans
1x120MM Fan
USB Keyboard
USB Mouse
USB Gamepad

Poss a couple of other things too. Without hiccup.

Now that's why I think it is a good PSU :)

Reason for change is that I am on a way faster rig now (Well, finishing off in time for i15) with even more stuff in there, so I am going overkill and forked out a ton for a 550w Antec PSU

Oxford? Hell, it's gonna take me just as long to Drive to i15 each day :p

Cheers,

Nick :)

I am in Farnham, Surrey. I am guessing that I could do it for prob £7 special delivery.

Darkblane

OK, I'll take it for £40 ....

Give me a day or two, and I'll let you know whether I'm gonna drive to Newbury for a day, or arrange to post it ... it depends if there's anything else I have to get at i15 (i.e I'd quite like to get an everglide and they should be available at i15 shouldnt they) or whether a friend of mine has anything he needs to get at i15 ...

Cheers.

OK, yeah, I'll definetely take the psu off you at i15.

I'm gonna come down and spectate friday afternoon, after I finish work .... so hopefully I should be there around 2:00 ish.

If you're gonna have your mobile on during the event, can you pm me the number, so I can ring you when I get there, otherwise as a speccy, I'll have hardly any chance of finding you.

Thanks.

See you there.
