New information is surfacing, concerning the long awaited ATI's R350 chip. New boards are set to release very soon (April 2003) and will open with the 9800 edition which as always will include both a PRO and regular version of the card.
The 256 Mb version of the card will be labeled the 9900, a PRO version will also be released, and will arrive just a short while after the 9800.
Clock speeds are expected to reach either the 375 or 400 MHz mark while the basic design will remain the same i.e. simple DDR memory at 375 MHz and 0.15 micron architecture. Despite the lack of change in its architecture the 9800 PRO is expected to be about <b>40 per cent faster</b> than its predecessor, the 9700 PRO
Since the card will retail in April, 2003, nVidia will have a very short stay in, what is proving to be, the red hot Graphics Throne.
