It seems Sega, much loved throughout the ages for its consoles such as the Sega MegaDrive, is in buy-out talks with two major companies.

Both Electronic Arts and Microsoft are interested in buying Sega, and you can read the full article over at The Inquirer.

It's sad to see such a prolific company head this low, and I'll be one of the first to say that if this happens, I'm afraid Sega will never be the same again.

They also produced one of the games that changed my life, Phantasy Star 2 on the Mega Drive.

If Sega do go down this road, it will be a very sad day for gaming

and surely Microsoft can't be allowed to buy them... they are interested in trying to remove a competitor.

I'd prefer MS to buy them and not EA, since MS seem to treating developers better than EA. Esp since Sega don't really do PC titles anyway.

Just as long as Sega doesn't get broken down in to depatrments and sold off seperately....
