Having read Rocketknights excellent DDR faq, I decided that FBL should invest in some DDR mats and kit so we can have some fun competitions of Dance Dance Revolution at the LAN.
Therefore I have now ordered some Playsation --> USB convertors from lik-sang in Hong Kong and we are going to buy some dance mats in Game next week.
Sooo, I hope you are all up for some PC DDR pleasure at FBL-6!
Comments here please.

I had a brainstorm, if work's new system lets me get an appropriate weekend off, i'll attend, that is if bob can take me.
See we now have a system that schedules you, as opposed to the managers doing it.
plus i need to pick up some stuff ;)
You may have your lanky streak of cum after all.

I've got a B with the mat so far!
Not too bad, considering i've never played before. :)

D0c, you've never played LAN DDR? You've missed out, sadly the UK version of DDR for the Playstation was rubbish, really tame songs and lots of European nonsense (namely Boyzone). Japanese mixes are made of WIN, plus the custom ones are pretty extreme. I find some of them are too difficult even if I use my fingers on a keyboard to play. Good fun!
And GeeDee, what mode of play is the B scored in? If you press up and down when selecting a song, the difficulty changes. Green being the most difficult, yellow being easiest. I forget the exact names of the difficulties, it varies from mix to mix.

Yeah, I worked that out when i ended up on hard about the second time I tried it!
It was on easiest mode, on all the default speed settings.
Ah well, i'm improving! :D

RocketKnight: Yeah, I know, but there are a couple of good tracks hidden in the PSX versions (Paranoia, Afronova, [must try Afronoia one day] and Dynamite Rave on the Euromix, suprisingly a good few in the Party one after you unlock them through the crap ones)
And the difficulty levels I've seen are either beginner/standard/difficult/expert (blue, yellow, red, green) or basic/trick/maniac (yellow, red, green)

Speaking of Dancing Stage Party, Konami just rereleased it after recalling the first batch because of major bugs. Apparently they had faulty test PSXs over at HQ. And I bet HMV won't let me exchange the broken one for a new one. :p:

18th January 2003, 17:50
heh. You really need to come to FBL-6 RocketKnight!!
And my sister got a AA today. I'm really annoyed! Ok. so it was on Kick the Can, a nice easy song - but still!

Most kind GeeDee, and I know I'd enjoy it as well, but sadly I'm at college and I find it hard enough to make time for i-series and StratLANs as it is.
And as for Kick the Can, get her on Max300 and watch her suffer. :p:

Max 300 is just disgustingly hard
GeeDee
18th January 2003, 19:52
lol, yes it is! I'm having trouble clearing 2 Unlimited; No limit as it is!!
I'll beat max300 eventually!

I can clear Max300 on the arcade machine in maniac with a level D. But I've only tried the once and I find the mats too inaccurate and prone to slipping to do any better at home. I'd keep trying it but the damn arcade machine is an hours drive away because Cambridge sucks and has no DDR machines. :p:

19th January 2003, 22:06
OMG!!! HOW did you manage to do that? It is just impossible
I struggle on some of the easy ones ffs!
