its not a matter of not wanting to. It's a case of working out how to do it.
I had my first 12 player Halo game on saturday and i have to say it was wicked! So much fun!
All the best bits of a PC LAN (multiple human players, team capture the flag etc) with all the best bits of having a console (being able to sit on the sofa with some beers and 11 other mates all doing the same thing!

Assign a part of the bar area on the 2nd floor as XBox area or in the area next to where the staff were :)

yer i brough a 50m link up (cross over CAT 5) cable for X-box system link
you think most poeple have 2 tvs in there house but the offical lead is only 10m meters and most poeple have a TV downstairs and one up so the offical is not long enough and moving a 21" tv up or down a stairs with the parent moaning is not easy or ideal or having a room big enough for:
8 people
2 xboxs
8 controllers
2TVs
and what ever else might be in the room
so with my lead (happy brought from Multiplay) i just run the lead from one xbox to the other no moving TVs or any thing like that its much easier

Yeah LinkSys connection... thats the one I'm getting to run XBox Live on :)
I'm getting their router as well which supports 258 connections.

i played my first 4 player game of halo the other day, was great, i was playing with one person that had halo, one person that had played it alot, and one person that has never played console games before.
still yet to lose a game :)
and the person that has never played console games (or any fps's for that matter) scored 7!
not to bad imo

Probably a PS2 owner that doesn't like the fact their console can't network.
