The iMax part of the Science Museum are hosting the Intel Masters Gaming Championships on the 21st December 2002. They are inviting considered 'top' clans to come and play, with a combined prize money of £25,000.

Their website is here (http://gamesradar.msn.co.uk/intel/), although there isn't a great deal of information on it about the event.

I'm hoping to pop up for the day, as entry tickets are free, but are a limited number. If you fancy it, you'll need to head up to london on the saturday 21st, and get off at South Kensington tube.

The games they have invited people to play are:

Counter-Strike
FIFA 2003
Warcraft III
Return to Castle Wolfenstein

So...hopefully see some of you there. Should be a fun day out anyhow.

question:

why are they still trying to make rtcw a pro game? no-one seems to play it ffs! no matter how much money we offer no-one turns up! (see i10 for statistics)

Might it have something to do with 4k RTCW being sponsered by Intel. This is not an event designed to 'raise the profile of computer games' its just a cheap marketing exercise.

Well that's debatable. Just because a game isn't very popular at i-series doesn't mean it isn't played.

Personally i think RTCW multiplayer was and is one of the greatest multiplayer team games around!! I can't believe it isn't played more at i-series.

Probably the same reason Starcraft has more tournys than Red Alert2 although RA2 is more popular - Because some of the organisers like Starcraft more. (I'm not saying Multiplay, just in general)

From what i gather, you just turn up, but there is a limited number of tickets, so bascially as long as you get there in plenty of time you should be able to get a ticket to get in. The iMax bit they'll be at will open from 11am onwards.

I might wander round other parts of the science museum while i'm there, haven't been there in yeeears.
