View Full Version : sponsorship

I think it might be an idea to get sponsorship for FBL6 since i expect we can make quite a bit of money and there is a good chance I can get sponsorship from Sun Microsystems since they work on the networking business scene it might catch their eye. I may also be able to contact Lucent Technologies or as a long shot, Sony.

Just a suggestion but it could mean more food, a better venue and other things that money can buy. (eg. cheaper attendance fees hint hint)

Sorry Ben but even at 50 people we are unlikely to get sponsership.

The idea behind sponsership is to advertise your sponser. It isn't worth a big sponser giving us kit just for 50 people.

But if any of the other staff think that we stand a chance, and that a sponser would be able to give us something of anyuse then maybe.

We are far to small to get sponsors, but GeeDee you have a number of friends around any of them got decent lighting or sound kit? could be sponserd of that or if you have a chat with Domino pizza if we do a F*** off big order for like 50 peeps then they mite do it cheaper if we do sumthign for them (leflets or jstu putting up DM logos arouind the hall)

ne wayz jsut a bit of thinking

I think the fees are stupidly low anyway ben. they could easily be £20-£30 and that would lead to a better lan all round :)

Cheez: remember that you are someone who gladly pays £60 for a LAN and is used to it. These people are used to paying a fiver

GeeDee

don't i know it!

Do you know how bloody hard it is to sort a LAN for people who moan at a £15 entrance cost!

/me fluffles Cheez

oh come off it i'm not moaning. i think 15 quid is an excellent price for the quality lannage that is received in return.

Brian = I can always try for money, if not equipment. My Dad knows a lot of people. wink wink.

5th November 2002, 14:46
der u go then
we could easly increse the prices!
i think for next event 20 £ if its at the other hall or the same, bot of course i get in for free cause although im not acctaulyl staff i do do a lot of stuff for fbl (setup at hall, kit, servers, techy help, food, drink) not much but it makes the real staffs jobs a bit easer :)
enjoy

to be honest, i would rather pay 20 quid and have the same amount of people rather than paying 15 quid with more people. imho, i think smaller lans (eg 25 ppl) are better since you get to know everyone and its more social, everyone talks to everyone else.

if you see my point of view.....

Believe, the best LANs I go to are StratLANs, mostly due to the size, but also the amount of alcohol and sheer win :)

insane drinking game with many rules that gets harder to follow the drunker you get. unfortunately the worse you get the more you have to drink :) a 6 hour session should be enough to just about wipe out anyone.

Sounds about right in comparision to what I have heard down the fone from the last two StratLan events.

We will have to do this at FBL6, add spirits to the guest list....

flix
7th November 2002, 14:46
hmm count me in sounds like fun :)
i advise the same count spirts on the guest list but they dont ahev to pay :)
