FBL6 2002 or 2003? you decide!

Okies, well its now saturday morning after fbl5 adn im thinking
i cant wait untill next year for another AMAZING lanage

so here is a poll

Should there be another FBL event this year?
If this happends prices may be up a bit, to allow cheaper prices for the longstock event

i actaully have no idea of the plans for fbl6/7 becasue sexy geedee is leaving me out.

Plans were for the next event taking place in Feb 2003, and hopefully being a bigger event in a new venue.

However details for that event are still being decided and no firm decisions have yet been made.

My general opinion is that having another one this year might be a bit too much, but if anyone feels differently please let me know.

yes i would really like the next event to be this year since i would preferably like to enjoy a whole event. with the same amount of people though. although i think a better idea would be to have the same people that came to FBL5 so we wont have any problems with newbies or anything and everyone seems to know each other really well.

although i was only there for half of fbl5 i did enjoy it very much and that is why i would love to come again when i will hopefully NOT be ill and will no longer want any coffee. ;)

what sorta notice do you need cheez becouse i have like house lans every now and then on a friday night but i dont decide to have one untill about 5PM and they start at 7 :P


im not sure if it would be possible to fit another FBL lan in b4 xmas but if so cool

yes although i hear myself saying that I would love another LAN to appear b4 xmas i then slow down and think well when? i suppose since me and paul ross and vanags all go to the same skool when we have a friday off at some point then i am thinking that this would be the only chance. Unless xmas holidays would be a good time? perhaps the few days b4 xmas or the week after xmas b4 i have to go back to skool? but then that would be 2003.

anyway im sure giles and co have the skills to pull it off. :D

without my own transport thats not enough notice unfortunately :-/

if your house is anywhere near the fbl venue then its about an hours car journey. and thats based on it being easy to find :)

OK lets keep this realistic, if i said that i was gonna run a FBL every weekend, you would all go wh00pie! BUT there is the orginisation and CASH that we and you have to do, it's coming up to xmas now, how many of you can afford that as well as a train fare, taxi, entrance fee, food and drink etc....?


I think the FBL series would seem more special if we saved the number six until y2k+3.

The final decision is GeeDee's but I personally feel that with only 58days till y2k+3 squeezing in another LAN is pushing it.

Well if we do it all the time it might become a bit bland....better to keep the magic alive and make it more special I reckon. Also I can't always muster £100 every 2 months and debts and Xmas are gonna drain me until money comes for me at the end of JAN....think this applies to rene too although I'm not sure. Plus I got holiday time then...

It has always been the plan and still is to do the next FBL in Feb 2003 either in Longstock Village Hall or Harrow Way Community School. We're currently in negotiations with both venues. There is no chance of us doing another LAN this year, we think they may start to lose their value a la DreamLAN if we do them every month.

In fact, not even Jacob knows about plans for FBL6 yet, not that he ever organised a tourny at FBL5 to warrant his yellow shirt status... ;P

Well Now,

Jacob did advertise quite a few RA3 games often and pulled people in and got them started and ran the server as did phatso with CS and we all took note of the scores...not that there was any doubt...

So thats kinda organising tourneys if not tons of quality games and servers...

The only reason we were gonna do tourneys was to get people playing more games and not l33ching, and there was plenty of that going on. Tourneys weren't needed. We may do MudBlud's idea of a pentathlon (sponsored by AMD? :D) or something at FBL6

i voted for a 2003 lan...mainly because i will have a bigger hard drive and more money, it should be in january too...

i think the next lan should start at like mid day coz then its light so everything can be setup easier.

my server survied i am happy with it now :D
did any one have any problems with the games i hosted

(MOHAA, RTCW, SOLDAT, ARMAGEDTRON, BF 1942)

IF NOT I Will keep hosting them at the next event and i will fix the MOHAA server as well i dont think it went badly as it was set up during the event
