Hmm can't run

I've managed to mess up cs. This afternoon it was fine, then I went to play this evening, and It was on permanent walk.

When i pressed the shift key it would begin running....for about 10 metres, then suddenly walk again.

I then put a copy of my config back on, still the problem.

Then reinstalled cs, still same problem.

I've not reinstalled HL AND cs, gone in with default config, and its STILL happening.

I remember having this problem once beofre, no idea how I fixed it, but not impressed.

Any ideas?

Hmm sometimes you can be crouched and it seems like you're walking... probably not the problem, but that foxed me once before.

are you using any clients (gamespy etc) to join?

Try creating on own game on lan and see what happens, you may have a rougue commad line or such.

its strange, I use the cursor keys, and right shift to walk. When I unbound it, I ran all the time, but when bound it would walk and if i pressed it, run for about 3 seconds then walk again.

When i rebound the keys the wsad keys and used the left shift to walk, it worked perfectly :/

Its not as if the key is sticking, just makes no sense.

are u using an external voice comms program such as roger wilco?

if i use Roger Wilco, my i constantly walk in CS until i hold down walk, at which point i run

cos its nice and helpful like that :eek:

yeah mines does that when im using Roger wilco, annoying when your walking .. then talk on rw and sprint across the map.

I had a similar problem.

Was playing a CS match using the WWCL (?) config and if fux0rd my install up!

Whenever i straffed my straffing movement would be at walk speed even though i was running forward. Only way i fixed it was complete uninstall/reinstall of HL & CS.

I Think its just a problem with CS and External Voice Proggys
Exact same thing happens to me when using RW or TS.
Right shift key doesnt work. Turns itself on and off. If u bind any other key bar right shift it works. ****ed IMO and very annoying specially when ur playing a clanny - and there all shouting "OMFG YOU TWAT WALK!"

All of the sudden the other day, I logged in to 1.6 and I could no longer walk forwards or backwards. I tried binding the keys, resetting my keyboard controls, changing all of my video options, and nothing has worked. I still dont know what casued this but andy help would be great.
