Can fold a piece of papaer more than 7 times and prove it.
over the top of each other that is, for example legth ways in half, then in half again etc
rar
[/other nonesense]
By the way, it has to be normal thickness paper, no grease paper or cling film is allowed.

OK, in my final seconds online before i head off to the cinema, I found these links:
http://web.nmsu.edu/~naadamso/Curriculum1.htm
http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a4_241.html
These websites found at random in google would suggest it can be done, but it would involve a mahoosive piece of paper, and conditions we couldn't realistically set up. Of course, the websites might be a load of rubbish, but I haven't let the validity of the internet stop me before. :p
so it seems with standard paper it cannot be done? please, anyone who works in the paper manufacturing business, could you do us a small favour............;)

This is very true, no matter how bug the piece of paper is, if you fold it as described above it cannot be done more than 7 times.

ages ago on some tv program it said if you 'could' fold a piece of paper 42 times (impossible anyway, but) it would reach to the moon?
hmm not sure if thats right or not as its 42 lots of 'doubling' up and cba to work it out.

gifteds right it depends on the thickness of the paper.
It only gets hard after 6 folds because its like trying to bend wood, a small piece of wood.

There is no way i can prove it but A4 tracing paper works if its really cheap that is but u have to hold it in place or it unfolds.
Does that count?
Baz

i no i was only jokin about the money, i dont expect any! i just sayin, go nab some grease paper from ur kitchen, theres bound to b some somewhere, and try it, its not as thick as a4 and so the 7th fold is easy! i got it to 8 :D, except on the 8th it looks dodgy, but hey!

yes i definatly need glasses to read the small print! hehheh heh mebbe u need glasses...to increase your brain power...by reading hte dictionary...so you could then use that gained brain power to put the right rules at the start boyo, instead of changing them when 50 people demand tenners of'v ya young bucko me lad.
gimme money or ill come round your house and slap you with a mackeral.

OK, download the following for proof it can't be done:
Right click, save as, rename to RAR and extract (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alex.pheysey/video/PaperFolding.vid)
I used an A4 sized sheet of grease paper and got 7 folds, but folds 6 and 7 were very poor. I think this proves that it can't be done with standard A4 paper, because it's thicker than grease paper. Sorry to spoil your fun everybody. Maybe if the rules were changed to allow bigger sheets of paper.....
Its obviously not possible anyway or 5teadders wouldn't be offering money to someone who can do it. :D

Methinks rocketknight goes too far :D
good effort though. the mrnice (http://www.cstretton.dsl.pipex.com/mrnice.swf) music (spanish flea or something) would have gone better with it though

Lol, cheers. It was my default webcam movie template and it was the first MP3 I found, but I agree, spanish flea would have been cool.
