The state of the forum users!!

I dont know if people have noticed (Either because they are one of them or just stupidly ignorant), but the majority of regular users on the forums are eliteist fools, and cannot and will not give information willingly.

Also the fact that anyone who is slightly uninformed in any way about any game, being instantly flamed is ridiculous!
what kind of example are people setting when they wont even give simple information to a simple question, instead they answer with such remarks as "ROFL" or other p!ss takes.

p.s. this doesnt apply to the small percentage of none eliteist nice honest people on the forums.

I have to say this is one of the least flame ridden forums I've ever been a part of, only people who ask really really stupid questions are ever really gone at, and even then someone usually posts a serious answer too

yea i think you should take a look at the hardware section for a start... for someone that has never built a pc or installed windows even it can be a daunting task (me remeber when i accidently deleted windows 3.1 when i was 9! LOL..... then asking for help to fix it, but i learnt)

but if you look in there... allot of the question are very simple for someone who builds pc's every other bloody day (me gotta have a break soon its getting stupid) but we answer all the questions asked purly becuase somone did it for me one time!

and there is ALWAYS somink that someone else knows more about than you and its good to double check, or ask advice on!

and even the *LOL PEON, N00bie SCUM* answers are 9/10 times followed by an answer like

"the reset button TURNS YOUR PC ON AND OFF IN A CLICK OF A BUTTON, it doesn't wipe your hard drive"

I resent this. As BGH said i find the forums one of the most friendly forums around. I don't know what kind of experience you've had but it's certainly unrealistic to say the majority of people here are unhelpfull.

and i have to say this was meant as a bit of fun. Your question about how to 'grab a hostage and hide behind them, holding ur arm around them in CS' was very funny and i think people just reacted to it. I have to say that i laughed so much it actually cheered me up :) It was never kmeant as a personal dig at you (not from me anyway) it was just funny. If you can't take a light hearted joke then i think this place isn't for you. We're all here to have a bit of a laugh and get on with people.

besides, you have to admit, in retrospect that was a damn funny question!! :)

About flamming: I have very recently been browsing through some other forums, and i have to say this is possibly the best one i visit, please do visit http://www.nsmb.com and see if you can count the IQ on one hand.

when talking about hardware problems i take sympathy because its a bit of a mindfield! but questions like that........ what you expect, and truthfully who really cares about a laugh and a joke..

i guess for me, i just found it funny because it's something i don't think the HL engine is even capable of. It's something you will be able to do in the up-coming stealth game Splinter Cell and i have to say it does indeed look very cool.

i'm sorry but i cant see where this post is coming from, I havent been to a multiplay even yet, my attempts have been thwarted at the last minute THREE TIMES! but i am definately at i17....anyway, on this forum i have seen everybody be helpful, a few people are a bit elitest, but i can only think of 2. Otherwise this is the most helpful forum i visit out of them all!

think back, people go out of their way to find links and programs, search for things to help other people. E.g people asking about GF4 cards, noodlemans trying to find UV inks, people suggesting hardware fixes.

ahh ... cs .... I remember a time when I was crap at cs and used stupid lame tactics. (ok, so I'm still crap at cs, but have stopped using the lame tactics.)

The best lame tactic, was actually to hide behind the hostage, in the darkness, wait till the ct's came to rescue them, popped up, blew the hostage away with the shotgun and them proceeded to get shot by the ct's :)

(And yes, this should actually be in the topic about cs, but I'm too lazy, and your talking about the same subject now anyway.)

p.s. to get back to the subject, I think this is one of the most friendly forums, I've ever been too. I've spent far too much time just browsing the dreamlan forums, and have finally explored the rest of the forums (thanks to having nothing to do at work)

Of course, I now seem to have got addicted to the chain story, and so just post nonsense anyway ....
