assualt. I think he is most versatile and the most accurate with a machine gun. However when it comes to axis side, i prefer medic. I personally cant hit **** with the axis assualt rifle.
People have been trying to convince me to use medic class since it came out but i dont overly see the benefit. The healy pack for me isnt much use... im always too involved.
Opinions?

I also prefer assault, but if I'm allies then I will always pick up the axis mp44 when I kill axis assault - bigger clip of joy :)

The assault class is usually better for maps with a lot of open space.... wake island is a prime example. Yes, the US assault rifle is probably the most versatile weapon... good for picking off people from a distance as well as close combat. The Axis rifle tho pales in comparison.
Depending on the map however, medic is often a much better choice.... yes they get to heal themselves, but I find the real adantage is that the machine gun they have is more powerful in close quaters than the assault rifles.
My favorite class however is probably the engineer. Just call me Mr Tank Whore :)

I thought it's an StG 44?
Anyway, I don't seem to have a problem firing it. If I'm Allies, I'll go Medic, cos I like the Thompson, but if I'm Axis, Assault.

Engineer
Grab a sherman, kill them, repair, kill them, repair, also the gun although very slow at reloading is uber accurate = headshots, like a sniper rifle, but can be used without a silly amount of zoom. Exploseives are great traps, esp when lay mines on road, then sneak round back and add explosives to truck, Pistol is good for close range work, and if u almost dead just use exp packs to take you both out, engineers for ever.

At least kneel, preferably go prone, then wait for your cursor cross to go small and shoot in one-two shot bursts. This makes it accurate over any range - in fact the further you shoot the more accurate it seems to be.
Generally I play as assault then switch to engineer or anti-tank as appropriate.

Sniper mostly for infantry. Just love picking off the enemy, especially if they have just run a mile to plan a surprise attack:D, unless being dominated by tanks, where I will go with a trusty bazooka:),
if not that I wil be found at home mostly in the mustangs or whatever tank I have to hand :)
It does annoy me when you get people on the server moaning about snipers. They were present in the war, so they are present in the game. Deal with it:p:
Cheers,
Nick :)

To be honest, snipers aren't that effective in this game anyway, so I don't see what people are complaining about.

Damn, I thought that I was one of the best. I sure get enough kills with them:p:
Belittle my skillz, why don't you;)

Snipers are invaluable on in the first section on Omaha, get off the landing crafts, snipe those bunker gunners and call in artillery on those tanks.
Myself, im an enginner man...and agree with the "find tank, kill, repair" system. this tactic rapes on battle of the bulge....gimme that m-10 and no one crosses the bridge!

OK, firstly I was talking about a sniper, not the scout in general. Yes, a SCOUT is invaluable, a sniper is useful, but not esential.
As for that m-10... Here comes my dive bomber :D

No planes on battle of the bulge catachan :p:
wonder if thats the reason its the only map i do well on?

Id have to say that Omaha Beach is pretty much the only map where the sniper rifle is of any real use.

I have no idea what you guys are going on about. I play with the sniper rifle mostly. I shoot enemies, they die, I get flags. Simple as that. They are perfectly useful, but it helps to have a little patience when there isn't a whole lot going on on-screen.
Cheers,
Nick.

I'm with mr footlong that the scout is an underrated and underused class. So for me its Scout followed by the assault followed by Anti-tank .
mind you thats just my opinion

Unfortunatly, I don't know too much about how to use the scout tbqh. I have tried it a couple of times, but when I zoom in the binoculars and request artillery, I have yet to have anyone hit it.....I think.....

that relies on ppl who know what they are doing in turrets and shore guns :)
still once they figure it out it can hurt the enemy a lot.
