A stirling performance by AcidUK earns him today's order of lenin.
The bandana of glory goes to Njoroge for leading many glorious charges to retrieve spawns and being sent to meet his maker 35 times!
A special mention to bugalugs for dying only 4 times in the entire match (how were the canapes at the spawn?).
The italian war hero (with Bruschetta campaign ribbon) to wizzo, who self-confessedly wasn't having a good match.

Good tank work (for the most part), and some very very solid attacks with good grenade work to reclaim spawns meant we never really looked like losing.

Two thing - I think the machine guns in the middle were slightly undermanned, and we could have flanked a little more - the level has quite wide flanks.

Do we need snipers? We didn't have any, but people have been saying it's a snipers map...

Good result, well done all. Played a bit of the practice game and apparently one round (?) of the official match before it was determined that Dictators weren't going to be able to match the amount of players we had, so I graciously dropped out (like I wanted to be another italian war hero!)

As for the snipers map - I need to learn how to snipe properly :( I still haven't worked out whether you need to lead the target or not and also the best place to hit them (I try for the head but sometimes it seems I miss stationary targets ...)

I must say, in the first round, we held the centre very well, and the undermanning of the guns wasn't that bad. I was on them for almost three quarters of the entire map!

Other than that, an excellent display. And I don't think snipers rule this map to be honest; it's too easy to dodge between something to cover yourself as you move on.

No, its not a snipers map. In fact I yet to find snipers anything more than slightly irritating.

Catachan

I have to agree with Muldoon on this. Snipers in this game are perfectly balanced. They're not too powerful, but not too useless.

ie. not like in UT2003 where a sniper can clear an enemy team out in seconds.

Well done DICE

I stayed in the back base and just sniperd or protected it, in all games all rounds.. as instructed

Catachan
13th October 2002, 22:11
Yes, causing me much anguish...

"Someone check the back of the base"

"OK"

"Oh sorry, he's in here, I got him"

"OK"

"Oh wait, there's another"

*Goes back to help, gets there*

"Oh I got him"

*sigh* "OK"

You get the idea :D

rah snipers sux0r!

You have to have the cursor over your target for about 2 seconds before a perfect shot is lined up.

i was playing a sniping game with my bro the other day and i was wondering why i could line up a shot and not hit him. This was because the view bob on the sniper rifle slows down after about 2 seconds when your over your target. (Apparently) according to my bro.

so there you go.
