7th October 2002, 13:24
I've not heard back from them yet but I challenged 1st GG (http://www.1stgg.co.uk/) to a game tomorrow - Tuesday - at 8pm.
Only reason for the short notice is cause I want to play and I can't make it any other day this week :)
If they/we can't play then then we'll organise it for another night.
Register interest here.

Not a real hard match, Kharkov is a good level for tanking and arty, and MPUK has plenty of good players in both.
Only 8 people made it hard to man AA, tank and defend at the same time, so the battle went back and forth somewhat.
Good recon by everyone, rogerwilco isn't great quality but seems to work for more people than teamspeak.
Again, we had no first-string pilots, but afty and theguyver did an admirable job as pick up pilots.
One thing - we need to organise people bringing tanks up when they die.
We will have a regular game against these guys (who should be able to field 12 players in future), and a game next Tuesday.

Sorry to say i wasnt overly happy having an ex-clan member organise tactics before the match. OK they may have been well thought tactics but if u wanted to help in the clan, u shudnt have been so stubborn and got chucked out/quit. No offence ofc:D

Thanks to everyone on the second leg who managed to run over my mines at the enemy bridge despite repeated Roger Wilco warnings :)
Oh, and thank god you can't demo BF1942 games, or someone might have seen me drop a Stuka into a tree when my joystick slipped, and also splat myself against a building when trying to LALO the middle, missing my parachute key.

Well you need serious players, for any clan to work...
I'm just a little too serious :p

No, you don't need 'serious' players, you need people who enjoy themselves.
We're not playing to win trophies here, and the sooner you understand that, the better.

No, you do need serious players, for example I didn't think bvark was in a fun mood with you guys when you lost on wake vs. lem
bvark, amongst most clan leaders are serious players
you really have to be, to organise tactics and so on
no tactics = rapage one way or the other, thats similar to a public, games last literally 5 minutes (wheres the fun?)
and tactics are never a quick thing, you should realise mpuk has 24 or so members, each with different qualitities and skills, tactics are usually based around them
TACTICS ARE NOT FUN
Especially when a clan full of guys that just want 'fun' don't listen :-)

Few things..
Guys, Defcon and I talked about the tactics because I thought it would be nice to discuss tactics with someone else.
Defcon gave the tactics dicussion after I asked him to because I cba doing that at the same time as apologising to 1stGG for the server not being up.
But Defcon, tactics are fun. The game is fun. The reason we are playing in a clan is fun. Also, don't speak for bvark - being in a mood for losing doesn't mean you aren't playing for fun. If it wasn't fun, frankly, we wouldn't play.
But please don't start bitching at each other about "fun", "serious" etc. Events of last night's match were my fault and not a cause for moaning at each other.
I decided that Defcon could play because we aren't getting enough players interested in the matches.
I decided to talk to Defcon about strat
I decided that he would give the talk, and I'm sorry about that - it was bad judgement. Indeed only clan members should give the strat talks. It won't happen again.
But moan at the person that made the decisions (well not about this occasion, I think I've heard em all by now ;) )
If we are members short of a game because our squad are busy or are just generally slacking then fill-ins may be asked for (although given feedback, the team will be consulted 1st).
I'm looking forward to next game - teething probs are working themselves out now.
