I think he left out the part of the story where he goes into the back room and gives up his body in order to get a copy a day early. It's not a bad thing, I'd have done the same. :p:

On a different note, I think i know why im so hopeless at it :(.... my fps is only 30 !!! :( :(

Either that or im just getting old (pass the zimmer frame)...LOL :)

does that mean im addicted as i reinstalled windows just to make the demo run without crashing? despite loosing all my data and stuff in the process?

just to let u know, on my athlon gig with GF4 TI4400, I get 30fps in the benchmark program that comes with it at 1600*1200

cheez? does ur demo crash? Mine takes it upon itself to just hang with no other option other than kick the reset button. I'm pretty sure its just my gfx card overheating or something (long story :rolleyes: ) but just wondered if anyone else has had the same problems?

Do you have a Creative Sound Card? If so try turning EAX off.

I do have a Creative Card, but my system is deffo overheating, so atm I have the side of the case off(not so bad, cos I have a zalmann flower heatsink so its quiet!!)

Got it waiting at home. I had a slight panic, cos I only counted 2 discs when i looked at it, thought nothing of it, then GeeDee informed me that there should be 3. I texted my mum and asked her to check it for me, thankfully the third is sitting there all present, shiny, and linuxified :)

eh? yea i know i'm in, but i assume you need players to play fill up the server no? or is the trial literally only going to be for trialees?

well it does depend on if we can get our own server to tinker with or a public.

if its a public, id prefer members to wait for the other trialists to do the trial rather than stopping them entering the full server. im sure either way its not a major hassle.

I can run one if needed. If I'm trialing it would be a listen server, but if I'm out for the evening I can run dedicated.

OMG sooooooooo annoying

i have the game here, but IT DOESNT WORK

yes thats right i get a nice fat error:

a required .DLL file, D3D8.DLL, was not found

so

buying XP tomorrow, im fed up of this **** ME as an OS, god knows why its on my system. and yes, ive tried reinstalling gfx card, directx up to 8.1b and ive changed my detonators back to 30. from 40 coz they suck arghhhhhhh

and now the demo has the same error, get the feeling that when i installed the game, it changed something to cause the error. any ideas are very welcome :D

I had a similar error which affected both full version and demo. It was also D3D related, I found that removing my graphics card drivers and reinstalling them fixed the problem completely. Radeon 8500 with the latest Catalyst drivers btw.

But still upgrade to XP, its way better than ME.

damn due to me not double checking my address on the order i still havent got mine (probally wont untill monday now :( ).

I'm tempted tomorrow to go to a shop and pull a "I'm buying this for a friend, but im not sure if it's the right one, can i bring it back monday if it's wrong" ;)

YES IT WORKS< after installing direct x off the ms webby IT WORKS COME ON

so basically, both the patches on dvd gamer and that came with the cd failed, but i dont care
it works :D
