FBL-5 - The l33t0r LAN!

FBL-5 will be our next event and is confirmed for the following dates:

Begin @ 20:00 on Tuesday the 29th October 2002
Finish @ 18:00 on Thursday 31st October 2002

Venue:

Cost:
£15 for the whole event

The event is capped at 25 participants and we have the following l33t attractions:


9 showers for your own hygiene (and pleasure too if you like :p )
A share of the food for everyone
A BBQ during one of the evenings
A super l33t and incredible network :)

Firstly lets deal with these comments:

1) Showers- The showers run on a dedicated oil burner which takes about 30 - 45 minutes to heat up and then should allow about three hours of hot water (unless its all used) before I have to re-activate the system. You either went in too early or too late.
I had a shower and the water whilst not as hot as I like my home shower was still lovely. There is nothing like being clean and fresh when you have been up half the night. :D

2) Power- I am not deneying that the power in the hall did go off due to someone having some equipment which was slowly leaking to earth, Sorry about the servers going down, but I thought that they where on their own MCB. I shall be aware of that in future.

3) Flix- If you can aquire some 2m patch leads for free we wouldent say no. Cheers.

I'd just like to say that the servers never went down once, even when the power for the punter machines tripped out. I dunno what the prob with the DHCP was, but I am endeavouring to have it working again for next time. A simple re-start of the service seemed to fix it at FBL-4 anyway.

I was wondering on the female population of FBL5 excluding Entity!!!:angel:

And it could be worth a little speaking (brian) to the chairman of the hall and see if he has a interest in actually sponsering FBL you never know!

And what purpose would that give? We all ready use "his" hall.

Also we are too small to achieve sponsership really. If we were to look for sponsership we would need a bigger venue and at least 50 guests. Also I would like the sponser to be 3com or another networking company, also a corperate deal with a food company wouldent be a baad idea.

Sorry but the idea of sponsership is that you advertise their company and in exchange they give you stuff for the event. The hall have nothing to offer in the ways of networking equipment, and advertising their hall wouldent get that much business anyway.

I actually ment, that if the hall sponserd you then money would come from the hall for f00d ect and in return help upgrade the hall, just a idea!
and 3com wouldnt sponser us unleses we had hmm lemme htink 200 guests at least

That wouldent work, the hall is there to make a profit, or at least break even. pouring out money isnt going to appeal.

We have the best setup.

if fbl5 is a big success then u cud probly find a good new venue, it wud be a good bet to check local newspapers ect in whatever area u wud like the venue to be.

FBL5 is definitly at Padworth, as for FBL6 we just dont know. We want to keep the events fun and lively, yet we want to expand.

We have a possible venue called "Longstock Village Hall" But that is just an idea. That could host 50 people :D
