Help with bugged-to-hell demo

The moment i start the game, i get given a black screen for a few seconds and then get dumped back to desktop.

Anyone have any ideas?

Uninstall your DIVX drivers and codec packs, all of them - it's trying to play the intro video and doesn't like one of the codecs you have installed.

You can usually reinstall them afterwards.

I had a smiliar problem. I found that running one of the Nvidia refresh fix programs, sorted it.

well i got a prob with the demo where i join a multiplayer game, any server even the mpuk one and it lasts between 1 and 5 secconds before it slings me out. Now when i set up a server it runs perfect.

Ive tried everything from reinstalling it 8 times in diferent places on my drives, updating windows/gf drivers/sound drivers.

Ive even redownloaded the entire think incase i downloaded a duff version (downloaded it off mpuk site 2nd time)

Spoke to some guy on irc who had the identical prob and the only way he got it working was with a compleat format.

I mean ffs it was working perfect for the first week. playing on packed 32 player servers for hours on end.

Cant tell me a system with a gig processor, 512mb ram and a gf4 ti4600 cant run it.

Ah well ill just hope the full game has this issue resolved.

Otherwise i guess i wont be playing it.

i've uninstalled DivX through add/remove programs but this problem still occures. How exactly do i uninstall all my codecs?

I would join server then would get dumped to desktop and occasionally get physical memory dumped :D I reinstalled normal geForce3 card drivers and uninstalled the Detonator ones. Works fine with no problems

Hmm Telex, try getting the nimo codec pack (google for it), that might help.

You might also try deleting or truncating the .bik files in movies.

when i play i keep getting random polygons out of black, like black shards appearing on my screen, my specs?

lets face it, Fantastic game, Still has UBER SERVERE issues and problems with some people for unknown reasons that shouldent happen

i was getting a problem where, after intalling the update my drivers got ****ed - more specifically something to do with direct x

i would start playing the game and my machine would reset....

i updated them to the detonator drivers (generic) and it's worked fine since...

i hardly think the game should have any problems... but it ran like a tubby bitch in tar

i have to run it on lowest detail or else it jumps like hell....

mmmmmm i have a simmilar system to you Elb, and it runs very nicley in highest detail in 1024.

i suggest looking into this, getting newest, differnt drivers etc.

eski your system a pentium 4 though and not a athlon!

thats why i said maybe somink to do with athlon system!

*me please i got pentium - maybe more expensive, and maybe slower but by god are they reliable*

right, i tried just moving the .bik files in /movies and then starting the demo but still the same problem.

i also tried installing that nemo codec pack and again same problem.

Damn this demo!!! or maybe its just my damn Win XP?
