This is the quietest part of the forums?
Where's all the Game Cube chatter?

Bob^^

yeah i have one

it owns j00

but there's really no need to chat about them on the forums, as there's not been any new releases for a few weeks, and the net adapters as yet have no release dates.

I have a GC, but dont play it at all. :(

There is a severe lack of games for it, in fact, I'm seriously considering selling it. Might hang on till after xmas, see if the situation changes..

So many people buy consoles early and then complain about the lack of games.
*SIGH*
If you want to get a console and you want the games then wait for the 2nd generation of games to start appearing before you buy.

LOL TOO TRUE, normally I dont buy consoles straight away but the GC appeared to be such a bargin.. :)

Im sorta regretting it now thou', for some reason the Xbox has started to appeal to me. I go into shops and it sits there wispering in my ear "buy me, buy me, you know you want to, only £200". Yet im hanging on until that lovely beach volley game gets released :)

I'm thinking of getting one, some of the games look to good to miss on like. Res Evil, Luigis mansion, super smash bros and starwars. I'm guessing that Zelda will be out soon for gc, if its like the n64 version of Ocriana of time it will sure own.
The thing thats putting me of is that it will just end up like my other consoles doing nothing in the corner cause I seem just just play most games on my pc.

They have changed Zelda into Cell Shaded animation.
Looks flash but for Zelda fans I don't think it was a good thing to do.

lol n1

but shall we look at this interms of units sold?

ps2
GC
xbox

and that pattern is still true the ps2 despite being older than the other 2 platforms still outsells them.

xbox is going to go the way of the atari jaguar (maybe not as quikly) unless a miracle happens.

And shall we also take into account the length of time the consoles have been out and managed to amass a large games library?

I doubt X Box will go the same way as the Jaguar cos unlike the Jaguar the X Box is a decent console. AND it has a hell of a lot of money behind it since Bill Gates is determined to get into peoples homes without using PC's.

Yep I went there for some XBox games.
Only ones they had were ones I had except Simpsons Road Rage which I can get from EA for £10
I did buy a SCART lead and DVD remote though while I was there.

Indeed, like it or loathe it, this remains a crucial factor in the console market. The one out first often has the advantage of a larger game base, but is usually technologically less impressive. However it is not the only factor, as happened to Sega (twice) beating the competition to market, but not maintaining the sales.

Edit: By the way, anyone got Pikmin. Is it any good?

And Dremcast is STILL a better console than the PS2 in terms of the quality of games.

The release lineup for the Dreamcast was far superior to the PS2. In fact it is only in the last 12 months or so where some excellent PS2 games have finally been released.

Was a shame the Dreamcast never took off more.

Someone mention Pikmin? it 0wns!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I psend all my cash on my PC so i dont have any consoles, apart from the PS1, but out of the three games i want (all on different consoles) Pikmin is one, my friend has it and she loves it too.

i want:
-Pikmin
-Halo
-Dance Dance Revolution

would cost about £700 shall we say for those 3 games? sod that is all i can say.

IMO if one console could easily be chipped and use copied games then it would pound the rest into submission ie. PSX

the PSX owned the rest of them, and if anyone is selling a chipped one, im lookingfor a second one, such is the degree of ownage (and multiplayerness)

anyone found that Super Monkey Ball (with automatic saving on) and Burnout, when used for a while, ie: you get far in each, on of them corrupts the memory card, and says you have to format it...

It sucks, I had completed Burnout.... (note *had* rrrrrrr)

Anyone else played beach spikers? It's basically virtua tennis on the beach...

Now if only they had that age rating like in DOA .... :P

Also, Mario Sunshine arrived earlier this week - looks like more Mario 64 goodness, unfortunately I've been away all week so I've only got 7 shines (so far)...
