View Full Version : So what now?

After many.... MANY hours of playing this game I've finally completed it.
So what now?
I've looked at online play a bit but Im not impressed. It doesn't seem conducive to single players.

Anyone else fancy taking over a public server some night and doing whatever campaign is on offer?

Also, noticed how no public server goes above a level limit of 20?

Dontcha just hate answering your own questions?

I just happened to be flicking throught the manual this afternoon, and I chanced upon a small sentence that said the highest leel you can reach in NWN is lvl20.

Bugger.

hmm, surely thats not set in stone. BG2 had an experience Cap that was removed for the expansion. NWN must jave it as well.

Might be worth checking AD&D 3rd edition for confirmation.

Im certain that you are right. Given that its quite likely there will be an expansion pack, Im sure they'll up the limit.

Doesn't change the fact that you can still only go as high as lvl 20 with the game as it curretnly is.

I've played about with hosting an NWN server at home (broadband) for the last week or so.

I set it to server vault characters only and since startup, I've had about 30 people create characters to play with.

I've tried public servers and tbh they don't hold much fun for me. Other players go off and do their own thing all the time, and on most event driven quests, this can cause major problems.

If anyone is interested in a regular NWN gaming nights/nights then I could always password the server for private users.

Currently have 10 or so modules downloaded for MP action. By the way, clients don't need to download custom modules (usually) only the server requires them afaik.

Thoughts?

Recent checking shows around 500 modules been produced already.

There has been about 20 (ish) done by Bioware staff (almost like a mini add on pack for free).

Perhaps playing with people we know may add greater replay value. Let me know if anything happens with your server groo.

Don't know about you guys, but...
Although the single player was graphically amazing and the new camera angels (zoom etc) were kewl, i thought theat nwn lost the playability of other rpg (ie baldurs and icewind)... im not sure of online yet as I havent bothered dtrying online....ps the level cap can be changed

if u wanna remove the exp cap try doing a google search for never winters nights and look for a site by IronWorks, they pretty good for all ur BG needs, i haven't played NWN yet haven't decided if its worth buying yet but when im completed BG1 and 2 i just went back through them trying to do everything in the entire game, kept me occupied for a while
