General Information

Dates: Thursday 29th July - Sunday 1st August 2010
Times: 4pm Thursday - 4pm Sunday
Venue: Exhibition Hall, Uttoxeter Racecourse, Wood Lane, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. ST14 8BD
Spaces: 120 initially
Cost: £50 Participant (£45 until 6pm 1st April), £10 Spector Day Pass, £20 Spectator Whole Event Pass

Food & Drink

There will be a bar open during the event, all alcohol must be purchased from the bar. A microwave, kettle and fridge will be available in the venue.
The nearby town of Uttoxeter has plenty of catering outlets which will be listed on the event intranet. (Including a Subway that deliver)
The event team will also be running a 24h snack and (soft) drink bar including items like crisps, chocolate, caffeine drinks and ear plugs.

Activities

We have a few new activities lined up for this event including:

* epic.Games - Various big games will go up through the day where we try to get as many people into the server for some epic action!

* epic.Tournaments - Nothing serious, no prizes, just honour, pride etc. Some of these fun tournaments won't even be on computers!

* epic.Tunes - Throughout the day and evening we'll get some tunes on the go to give ++ atmosphere.

* epic.Quiz - Join with teams of up to 5 people for a chance to win in our quiz. Everyone throws in a few pounds and the winning teams take the prize.

* epic.Hunt - Follow the clues around the venue to pick up a prize.

* epic.Achievements - Certain things that you do at the event will give achievements which will be added up at the end of the event.

* Not to mention all of the usual things you would expect to find such as consoles, social/chill-out area, licensed bar, etc.





To make it even easier for us to communicate with people at the LAN we have our custom made bigscreen that will be shown at both ends of the venue and you can view on your own machine as well. This system also scans the network for games so you know what is available to join.

12 weeks to go and we're proud to announce the OM NOM NOM WTF BBQ! On the Friday evening of epic.FOUR we're going to be cooking more meat than you can possibly imagine and keep cooking until you can't eat any more!

How much would you expect to pay for this awesome and almost famous BBQ? £10? £20? £100? No, we're offering it for just £5. You can pre-book along with your epic.FOUR ticket.

Something is coming... and it's going to be meaty!

We are also offering meat substitutes for herbivores.

Also, the LAN doesn't end when everyone goes home. Keep the fun atmosphere going at our epic.TUESDAY and epic.THURSDAY events.

Many of you already take part in our big TF2 games on Tuesday, we start at 8PM on the epic.LAN Servers and play till late. For LAN party style smack talking and to tell Winbar how much he sucks when you kill him, we also have Mumble.

As for Thursdays, well that's when we run smaller more niche games, the kind that are great at 2AM at a LAN when the Jolt kicks in. Last Thursday we played on the largest capacity Armagetron server in the world, supporting a whopping 128 players. 12-14 people joined in, including Graeme from Kustom PCs.

Next week we're giving it a miss (but we have plenty of servers up) as the next day we're kicking back old skool style with epic.Lite, but on the 3rd June it's time for everyone's favourite free FPS, Warsow!

Retro gaming at epic.FOUR

Want to relive those days golden days playing 4-player split screen Mario Kart or Goldeneye?
Well we are pleased to announce a Nintendo 64 with 4 controllers will be made available for you to play on over in the console area at epic.FOUR, allowing upto 4 player split screen mayhem on our huge projector screen.
The classic titles that will be available to play include:

• Zelda: ocarina of time

• Perfect Dark
