South East LAN Anyone?

Hi all,

After attending a few MPUK LANS and wanting to run a small LAN for a while now i have finally decided to get my ass in gear and start to think about it seriously!

We are currently looking at a nice Venue In the South London area just within the M25. The venues a nice size with enough space to have 50 participants comfortably!

Im just making a general post to find out if we went ahead with this LAN with enough notice time for people would anyone be interested in coming? I know this is really scetchy at the moment but untill we set the venue in stone i cant really give you the rest of the details Are there many south/ South East Lanners interested in coming to an event in this area? Be interested to find out

Cheers

See http://www.llamalan.co.uk/.
That's been going in the south east for some time, so it would be best to avoid date clashes.

Thanks for the responses so far! Im just waiting for the Hall to come back to me on a few things and then we're good to book a date! We are looking around the October time. Possibly Friday 26th - Sunday 28th October. Cant find any LANS which are booked on that week however Centralan hasnt confirmed its Halloween Party yet. The two shouldnt clash as we're a fair way from each other but i just wanted to make it clash free so as many people as possible could come

It's unlikely we'll be that weekend, so dont worry. Its looking more like Early October now for us, and like you say the two events are far enough away. Thank you for going to the effort to check too!

BTW - is the email in my inbox from you?

Maybe you can come along to a LlamaLAN and have a chance to meet some of the South East LANners and have a chance to pimp your event, we don't mind if you post in the LlamaLAN forums either, just as long as you don't mind us pimping in yours as well, you can even have a link on the front page with our 'other LANs' section as long as you reciprocate. The more LANs that are run the better, more interest for you equally means more interest for us

I wanted to come along to your LAN in august but unfortunatly its smack bang in the two weeks of august that work dont let us have off as its our maintinance week I might look into trying to pop down for a day to spec if you allow spectators

As for the pimping on each others sites im sure we can work somthing out once my sites online! As you say the more LANS the better

If you are just popping down to visit then feel free to pop in and see us, no charge, if you're planning to stay overnight then you can pay the £7.50 Spectator fee, and if you're around for the Saturday and have paid your monies then you are also welcome to enjoy the party.

I cant give the exact location untill the end of the week when its hopefully been confirmed and booked. (still mid-negotiation with the Hall) However its most likely to be a venue just outside of Bromley

Yup, This post was more to gauge the interest for a LAN in the area. I will fully announce everything once we've got the site sorted and everything in place So stay Tuned....
